JFK has provided education in Saanen an international context for children aged 2½ -13 years old over the past 50 years.
Our commitment is to encourage every student to achieve the highest academic standard in all that they do. Our academic programme ensures that students are challenged to learn. They are taught the importance of practice, perseverance and determination to succeed. Our students achieve this within a safe, happy and supportive environment, in which they are inspired to become purposeful, life-long learners. We provide an education based upon the English National Curriculum combined with the international curriculum of Fieldwork Education in an international context for students with a range of abilities.

Our students are supported in reaching their highest level of personal achievement through good learning habits, self-discipline and a strong sense of responsibility. Staff in the school place a strong emphasis upon the importance of academic excellence, kindness, courtesy, and consideration for others. We give recognition to hard work and commitment in all areas of school life and encourage students to develop their individual strengths and interests.
The John F. Kennedy School provides a range of opportunities to complement our academic programme. Physical Education and Sports enjoy a high profile and belong to a strong tradition. They are regarded as essential ingredients to a well-rounded education. An extensive range of sports is offered as part of the curriculum, including hiking, swimming, ice skating and football. The ski slopes are among the very best in the world, and in winter, students spend three afternoons per week ski training to the highest of standards.
Students are encouraged to take part in community projects in the local area, for example helping at a local care centre for disabled adults, singing carols for local senior citizens at Christmas or supporting neighbourhood charities and events and taking part in local sporting competitions.
Our school makes a positive contribution to the local community and we feel that we have been successful in creating a learning environment that promotes a knowledge and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and belief systems and global issues.
On leaving our school, our students are confident, well-rounded individuals who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and their role in a challenging, demanding and rapidly changing world.
