Karen was born in the Falkland Islands and lived there for most of her life except when studying in England for her higher and further education. Karen has a Diploma in Childhood Care and Education and a BSc (Hons) Degree in Physical Education and Sports Studies.
Since completing school and throughout her studying, Karen has spent a lot of time working and teaching in schools.
Karen also has 7 years of working for the Falkland Islands Government as Personal Assistant to several Directors and running the Public Relations and Media Department, giving Karen experience both in and outside the teaching world.
Karen moved to Switzerland with her partner Rob in August 2020 and has been part of the JFK team in both the Boarding House and in the Teaching team since 2021. She is a very keen netball player, loves to take part in team sports and travel, and when she isn’t at school you can normally find her either out running or on the ski pistes in the winter.
